1. Does it hurt?
YES, it does! BUT it is not that bad. It is a bearable pain that anyone can handle. All it takes is a good meal and a cold drink before you get tattooed. It is essential to relax and keep yourself calm. When you stress too much your body won't handle it and you will stress the tattoo artist as well. back to top
2. Will I get H.I.V or Hepatitis?
Two answers, NO if you go to sterile studio and YES if you go to a dodgy one. Professional tattooists go to great lengths to ensure yours and their own safety. This is one reason tattoos go for a high price. Feel free to ask how they sterilise their equipment and if their needles are new or used. Getting tattooed out of a house or garage with no sterilising equipment increases your chance of contracting hepatitis. It may be a friend and it may be real cheap, but it's a great risk. back to top
3. Can I get tattooed if I am pregnant?
No. Wait until you have had your baby and you are no longer breast-feeding. back to top
4. Can I donate blood afterwards?
NO, according to blood donor clinics you have to wait one year. back to top
5. Will it fade?
YES & NO. If you damage your tattoo while it’s healing it could fade. This is why you must not pick or expose your new tattoo to sunlight. We also recommend putting on sunblock (30 +) if you are in the sun for more than 10 minutes.... for the rest of your life. This protects your colours and avoids sunburn on your tattoo. U.V rays are extremely harmful! Take care of your tattoo and it will not fade. back to top
6. Will it go green or blue?
NO! Tattoos today, done by a professional artist with professional tattoo equipment, will not blur and go green over the years. As you may have seen you grandfathers blurred, green tattoo's that where done in the 1950's. back to top
7. Where should I put my tattoo?
That's your choice. Not on your hands or face! Somewhere you can show it when you want to and hide it if you have to. Small tattoos look good on small areas and big tattoos look good everywhere. Place it on an area that compliments your body, ask your tattoo artist for advice, they should be patient and willing to help. back to top
8. Is it permanent?
YES!!! Thank goodness. There are ways of removing them such as laser or dermabrasion but it’s a costly exercise. back to top
9. How old do you have to be?
18 years + or 16 with your parents at your side, however, we recommend that you wait till you are older as your choice of tattoo can change quite drastically as you mature. This way you are less likely to regret it. Give yourself time to decide what you want from your future. It is unfair and irresponsible for a tattoo artist not to be concerned about your age, for your benefit alone. back to top
10. Will I faint?
Only if you haven't eaten, are stressed out, drunk, hung-over or under the influence of drugs. back to top
11. What is the most painful place?
You shouldn't worry about that. Get your tattoo where you want it. For women: lower back, inner arms and on the ankle bone. For men: chest, inner arm, ribs and on the ankle bone. But that is all irrelevant when deciding where to put it. It only hurts once! back to top
12. Will it blur with age?
Lines blur if they are tattooed too deeply and if you keep it closed up in sweaty clothes for many hours. back to top
13. What’s wrong with my tattoo? It has a scab?
Scabbing is part of the healing process, leave it alone! back to top
14. Are tattoo's satanic?
No, many cultures throughout the centuries have used tattoos to adorn their bodies for religious and spiritual beliefs, as well as status and fashion reasons. People who worship Satan are Satanists. Flowers, fairies, tribal designs, dolphin's, sun's and the hundreds of other designs people have tattooed on themselves are not! back to top
15. Thieves, thugs, prostitutes, sailors, drug addicts, locksmiths and bikers only wear tattoos.
Many people from all walks of life have tattoos in the world today. For example financial managers, graphic artists, professional sportsmen and women, doctors and nurses (the list could go on forever). back to top
